A new map for Unreal Tournament 2004, called TempleOfTrials-v3, is now available for download. "This is a non-combative map where all players join one team and try and get to the end of the map before the time runs out. This map offers a challenge because you will need all the tricks you have learned in UT. And skills is needed to complete this map that contains six Tombs, each more difficult than the other and opens once the previous is complete". Gamer's Hell Local Download:

Full Story: A little background as to why I(Princess_Frosty) made this map. Basically a map called Skilltrials was made by someone, it was an AS map and when it was released on a few clan servers which were running custom AS maps it was insanely popular. The map itself was very simple to say the least, all BSP, simple lighting nothing but the very basics, but it was played a good 6-7 times in a row, people loved it. I decided to make a sort of unofficial sequal, i havn't spoken to the origional mapper yet however i did pinch 1-2 ideas from his map, this isn't intentional stealing i just can't get a hold of the guy. Anyways i gave my map a sort of underground buried egyption temple sort of theme, put the basic AS objectives in boom it was done, a few hours work. Its by no means a professional map, i wanted to make this map as soon as i conqured the original, i also wanted to give others a better/harder challenge. I didn't have the time to make any custom content because im working hard on some maps for Hackerz (a UT2004 mod) So please no comments on lack of detail. There are now 6 tombs: Novice (New) Amateur (v2 easy tomb) Intermediate (v2 medium tomb) Skilled (New) Advanced (v2 hard tomb) Pro (New) Novice tomb is obviously very easy, its only 3 rooms/challenges and you can't die (unless you shild punt yourself) It shouldn't prove hard for anyone, even the newest n00bs should be able to complete this quickly Amateur tomb is just v2's easy tomb and hasnt had any changes. Itermediate tomb is just v2's medium tomb with minor bug fixes and a few small lighting tweaks. The teleporter room has been made harder theres now only 1 teleporter that takes you to the final end area. Skilled Tomb is new and consists of 7 rooms/challenges and is actually quite hard after some beta testing. Advanced tomb is v2's hard tomb and comes with a few bug fixes and some of the rooms have been made slightly easier, specifically the moving cubes, the last cube is SLIGHTLY slower. The lava room has some stepping stones, so if you miss a chance you'll get to retry depending on how good you are Pro tomb is new and comes with 6 rooms all of which are hopefully quite hard (apart from maybe the maze, which im hoping you will all like) The last room is like an extention of v2's hard route end tomb, theres more coffin jumping but theres a lot before it and a very hard climax (i hope) should keep even the pros busy for a while. All new tombs come with teleporters that open up at the end so you DO NOT have to run the current route, you can chose any current tomb or previous tomb and when you get to the end you can teleport back to the start. please dont feel like you have to keep up with the pro's on the server, i seriously recommend you complete all routes before you move onto the next one. /Cloud02
