The E3 2004 Ascension To The Throne trailer is now available for download, offering almost two minutes of cinematic footage (thanks: 3DGamers). In the works at DVS, Ascension To The Throne is a "classic" turn based strategy game with RPG elements, taking place in a fantasy world. In your quest to become king again, you'll have to "fight in several battles, defeat your enemies, acquire new friends, and return the seized throne". The game will be published by 1C in Q4 2004. Ascension to the Throne is a classic turn-based strategy game with traditional RPG elements. In a world of fantasy, players will act as the last offspring of the ancient family Illiar, rightful rulers of Eden. After being cast far beyond the borders of the country, players will explore a new fascinating world, full of foes and friends as they crush hordes of enemies and find new followers to regain the title and ascend to the throne. The game features a combination of real-time movement around the game world with turn-based battles of up to 22 squads of 16 units each. Players are not bounded by separate missions, but can go to any part of the game world and explore it. The game world is integral and players are free to choose any direction. Instead of giving orders and watching the battles from a safe place, gamers participate in directly, shaping their own destiny.
