  • BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA - July 17, 2004 - Nucleosys are proud to present the new interactive teaser of the upcoming mystery adventure game Scratches. Over the past months, Nucleosys have been tirelessly working to bring out the best of this new adventure, and now the time has come to show its new looks. Scratches has been drastically improved, in part due to the new propietary engine being developed by Nucleosys, named SCream (Simple Creation Engine for Adventure Makers). SCream aims to become one of the most important and solid solutions tailored for the development of adventure games, being an affordable, portable and easy-to-use engine providing advanced tools. SCream will be targeted towards independent developers and totally free for use in non-commercial projects. Nucleosys will disclose further details about this new engine soon. Being built with SCream, Scratches now boasts 3D panoramic rotation, a comfortable interface and a surround music soundtrack, courtesy of Dark Ambient composer Cellar of Rats, among new exciting features, some of them never seen before special effects! Whereas the first teaser was intended as a means to introduce the players to the story of Scratches, there's a more sense of achievement in the new one, making them more involved with the storyline. Being three times larger this time, the new teaser has enough gameplay to almost warrant a full-blown demo! Even after it's over, the players can have fun looking around for the hidden easter eggs. Nucleosys suggests replaying the first teaser once again to have a hint as to what is going on story-wise, but this is not strictly required. Scratches "The Second Teaser" can be downloaded from the Nucleosys website at http://www.nucleosys.com. Working closely with Just Adventure+, Nucleosys have arranged a simultaneous release and thus the teaser can be also downloaded from http://www.justadventure.com. Please bear in mind the following system requirements before downloading the teaser: Minimum 500Mhz. CPU 64MB RAM 8MB OpenGL-compliant 3D video card* Audio card Recommended 700Mhz. CPU 128MB RAM Surround capable audio card 16MB OpenGL-compliant 3D video card* A Hi-Fi sound system is highly recommended *All modern 3D video cards should be OpenGL-compliant but some may have worse support than others. If you experience sluggish gameplay, make sure you have the latest video drivers from your manufacturer.
