Known Issues / Workarounds ----------------------------- Windows 98/ME The 'Taunts' feature currently does not work on Windows 98/ME. There will be a patch available soon to fix this problem, please check the Empire Interactive website for further details. If you receive the following error message while trying to install the game: "The file 'OLEAUT32.DLL' is out of date" Please install the latest version of Internet Explorer from the Microsoft website. http://www.microsoft.com Keyboard Issues If you are using a keyboard to play Mashed and you are finding you can't perform some moves in the game, this is likely to be a keyboard buffer problem. This means too many keys are being held down at the same time and some commands are not being recognised. This can be resolved by redefining the keys to something other than the default set-up. This will have to be done through trial and error until a suitable combination is found. Performance Issues If you are experiencing slow down issues, this could be down to the sound card installed in your machine. The problem has been identified with a Creative Sound Blaster Live! card but could also happen on other cards. To fix the problem click on the START button in Windows, select RUN, and then type dxdiag into the box. The DirectX diagnosis program will appear after a few seconds. Select the Sound tab from the top menu then adjust the slider bar one notch down (Standard Acceleration). Exit the dxdiag program and then run MASHED. 3. Graphics Card Compatibility ------------------------------ Mashed has been designed to play on Graphics Card with 32MB or more of memory. Please ensure your graphics card meets the minimum memory requirement. The following card(s) have known issues Matrox Parheila - The car shadows in-game are drawn as white shadows rather than black. Unfortunately there is no fix or work-around for this problem other than turning the shadows OFF from the configuration screen. 4. Virtual Memory ----------------- Please ensure you have enough free hard disc space to enable the Windows Virtual Memory to perform optimally. Typically you should have about 500MB of free space on your hard disc.
