Paradox Interactive today released a new video for War of the Roses, a squad combat game that transports players back in time to the battle-ravaged, dynastic civil war era of 15th century England where ownership of the throne of England was brutally fought over between supporters of two rival branches of the Royal House of Plantagenet - the house of Lancaster (the reds) and the house of York (the whites).
Developed by Fatshark, War of the Roses will pull players into a team-based multiplayer melee combat experience, putting their band of knights right in the thick of chaotic battles against opposing hordes armed with swords, battleaxes, longbows and other iconic medieval classics. Players will get the chance to lead their knight through a progression system, gaining upgrades and unlocking new content on their path from filthy peasant to unstoppable armored killing machine.
Pre-orders for War of the Roses will conclude on September 25th, 2012, and only those who have wisely pre-ordered the game will be allowed to play during early access, which will begin that same day. War of the Rose will launch on October 2nd, 2012.
