We have a video developer diary for DmC Devil May Cry, a game that sees the team at Ninja Theory joined by key staff from Capcom's R&D division. Set against a contemporary backdrop, DmC will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost. DmC will retain the series' signature mix of sword and gunplay but add additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalised gameplay system.
The Dante of DmC is a young man who has no respect for authority or society in general. Dante knows that he is not human, but also that he is not like the demons that have tormented him throughout his life. Caught between worlds, he feels like an outcast. He is now discovering and coming to terms with what it means to be the child of a demon and an angel. This split personality has a real impact on gameplay with Dante being able to call upon angel and demon abilities at will, transforming his Rebellion sword on the fly to dramatically affect both combat and movement.
DmC Devil May Cry will release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 15, 2013 in North America and Europe.
