III. GAME MODES:
Summary:
Street Legal Racing: Redline, puts you in the seat of one of 8 stock import cars challenging you to seek out random street races by day, earning money to buy parts to trick out your car for the big drag at night where you can put it all on the line. As time passes, you will slowly mold your vehicle into a finely tuned racing machine, capable of taking anything on the streets, but it wont be easy. There are many other racers out there with these same aspirations, willing to do whatever it takes to get the checkered flag, and the police don't have the same affinity for street racing as most, doing whatever they can to break these dangerous races up. Do you have both the driving skill and mechanical know-how to make it to the top?
Quick Race:
Hit the streets for a quick street race with a random car and at a random location in the city.
Free Ride:
Freely explore the streets of the city with a random car.
Career:
Start a new street racing career. Begin with a pocket full of cash and go shopping for a new car. Build your car up and work your way up the ranks of the local street racing clubs. Do you have what it takes to win the Race of Champions?
Day Races:
During the day, driving around the city in search of other street racers is your only means of finding competition. Once you find another racer, honking your horn will bring up the challenge screen. Day races are less risky, you can only race for prestige or money, though length and finishing point of each race can be varied if you have a higher prestige rank than your opponent. To adjust the finish point, click on the city map where you would like the race to finish at.
Night Races:
At night, the local street racing club members gather all gather to put it all on the line to climb club rankings and maybe even win a few pink slips. At night, the race gathering location is represented by a flag on the minimap. Once you arrive at the gathering spot, you can sit back and watch other club members go at it or you can enter the racing and try to climb the club ranks, and if you're feeling lucky, you can bet for pink slips as well! Night racese always 1/4 mile drags.
