- Rage3d Greece organizes an Olympic LAN Party sponsored by ATI on Monday August 23rd to celebrate the 6 months from the site launch. The event will be held at "Web Cafe" (Eptanisou Str 40 - Kipseli, Athens, Greece) and will start from 6 pm to "until we see your eyes closing!!" Special guest will be Terry Makedon a.k.a. Catalyst Drivers Maker.
- The new service launched in UK by Blip! provides customers with a CD sized leaflet that contains loads of top games (Splinter Cell, Driver 3 and FIFA 2004), over 100 different ring tones, 20 celebrity screen savers and more.
- European Developers' Forum (EDF) has declared Friday 3rd September "Windows Gaming Day". "Top industry experts from ATI, Intel, Microsoft and NVIDIA will be on hand to take developers through the myriad technical issues that affect best coding practices on the Windows platform. There will also be in-depth presentations of several highly practical and innovative techniques which can be used to enhance both the look and performance of games for Windows". EDF, which is being organised by The Independent Games Developers' Association (TIGA) runs from 1st – 3rd September and is part of a family of shows at Dockland's ExCeL venue which include European Games Network, a trade-only exhibition, and Game Stars Live, a massive multiformat consumer exhibition which runs through until 5th September. - Xbox Live's popular Game With Fame series of online celebrity events is offering gamers a chance to play against rockers Maroon 5. "You’ve heard ‘em on the radio, and you’ve seen ‘em on MTV rocking their hit songs “Harder to Breathe” and “This Love” from their debut album Songs About Jane. On Sunday, August 22, you can challenge Adam, Jesse, Mickey, Ryan, and James on Xbox Live!. They'll be playing Top Spin™ and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® 3 Black Arrow™ from 10 AM - 1 PM PDT.
