Path of Exile Reaches Two Million Registered Players

Path of Exile is on track to become one of the most popular PC game releases of 2013
Grinding Gear Games today announced that their action RPG Path of Exile has recently passed two million registered players mark, despite having just launched its Open Beta on January 23, 2013. Path of Exile is a PC online action role-playing game set in a dark fantasy world. Featuring ethical micro transactions, the game is free-to-play, but not pay-to-win. Playing as one of six character classes, players find themselves banished for their past misdeeds to the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. There, they will encounter hundreds of species of opponents laden with loot and mysterious artifacts as they explore the abandoned continent.
Grinding Gear Games are currently sticking to a schedule of a content update each week. Recent updates have introduced the new skills Incinerate and Cyclone, as well as adding eight new Unique items, six of which were designed by the game's Diamond Supporters - fans who had contributed $1000 for the chance to be involved in the development of an item.
