According to Blue's News, the first-person action game powered by the LithTech engine RatHunt will be coming to the PC. This game is in development at the Polish developer Mirage Interactive. Originally this was planned as an Xbox only game. Read the full article for more details and check our gallery for more screenshots.
RatHunt is fast, action packed First Person Perspective Role Playing Game, now developed for PC and console platforms by Mirage Interactive (formerly Mirage Media), Poland, one of Poland’s biggest game developer (e.g. producer of Mortyr: 2093-1944). Both the scenario and game play style are dynamic and fast. Although at first the game might look as a straight shooter, it surely is not. Yes, there is a plenty of combat in RatHunt - fast, mean, deadly and very good looking - but it is definately NOT all about the game. RatHunt is fun to play, far from known schemes, far from boring the player. Far from another find-kill-open-next-level game. How is that? Well, here are some examples: * Scenario/cutscene intros. What can we write about scenario we composed ourselves? We find it interesting, fresh and funny. It is the story of a thug framed and designed to kill who goes out for revenge... and evolves. Some turnarounds, a girl, a bit of space and tons of climate. We use some good old detective/adventure tricks, there are quests to do which turn to be dangerous... or quite profitable sometimes. Some are essential, others can be omitted. You gain experience, learn, fight, almost get killed but at the end... Sorry, seems I've gone too far. Of course I won't tell you that ;) * Challenging enemies. We did our best for the enemies to be challenging the way real human opponents would be. They don't have eyes at the backs of their heads, cannot see thru walls nor in darkness. But they can hide, sneak, and use the best advantages of their weapons (trying to avoid disadvantages). There are basically four groups of enemies in RatHunt: police (including SWAT), and three mafias: Russian, Italian and Chinese. Each of them uses different tactics. Each of them looks different, talks different, even eats different (body growth, speed and strength also plays important role in combat). * Varying environments. Creating RatHunt as varied and attractive as possible was one of our greatest concerns. Mason's way will lead thru many, many differing places, such as: - high security prison cells, corridors, kitchens, guardrooms, basements and so on. - Small, sleepy town. - Rich and detailed mansions. - Port pubs, mafia hideouts and dirty backstreets. - Tunnels, underground channels, illegal stocks and garages. - Chinatown. - Huge, ruined factory. - Ancient monastery. - Great shopping centre. - Majestic skycrapers, in and out. - Secret biological laboratories. If you think that the above list contains all you will see in RatHunt, well, you're just wrong. These are just the visible tops of icebergs. All of these environments are detailed and built with artistic and architectural mastery. They are full of interactive objects and items you can pick up, eat and use. If I add a word about lens flares, fogs, smoke, rain, snow, water, dynamic lights (yes, you can turn lights on and off, shoot them down etc), will that be enough? I suppose not, but you will have to excuse me. You just have got to see it all by yourself. Why "RatHunt"? Various reasons. The most obivious is Mason himself, as from the very beginning he is hunted like a rat. Smart, sometimes deadly, with danger lurking from everywhere he turns. But, what's most important, there is something else behind the game. Behind the story, action, combat, mafias, police and guns. Behind the great, RPG related, action-adventure shooter. There is the mystery. Something you do not notice at first, but there's a thrill. In the corner of your eye, in a whisper of a terrified guardian.... something Hunting. Something Hunted. And just when you think you know how it is going to end... Rathunt is powered by the LITHTECH™ Development System licensed from LithTech, Inc. LITHTECH Development System © 1997-2001 LithTech, Inc.
