Toukiden takes Tecmo Koei's expertise in historically themed games to an expansive fantasy world influenced by historical and traditional Japanese elements
Developed by Omega Force, the team that created Dynasty Warriors, Toukiden: The Age of Demons casts players in the role of the demon-fighting warrior, known as a Slayer. Starting from the Utakata Village headquarters where they will accept quests, players will venture out to battle monstrous and deadly Oni (demons) before they destroy all of humanity. Players can select party members from a supporting cast of characters, or join together with up to three other players through ad-hoc mode.
A playable demo is now available via PlayStation Network. Spanning the entire first and part of the second chapter of the game, this comprehensive 10 hour sample includes full access to character customisation, all six weapon types and equipment upgrades. It also allows for a trial of the online environment, which plays a pivotal role in the enjoyment of Toukiden. In the full version players will be able to team up with up to three others to try and defeat the Oni. To give prospective fans the opportunity to fully appreciate the battle system and co-op, the demo allows up to seven multiplayer missions to be completed. Players can carry on their save data-equipment, obtained weapons/armour/mitama, materials (up to 30 slots), story progress, and a part of their Haku (in-game currency) - to the full version of the game.
Toukiden will arrive on February 11th in North America and February 14th, 2014, in Europe, for PlayStation Vita.
