1. Paradox Interactive has announced that Magicka: Wizard Wars, the online spellcasting action player-vs-player (PvP) game developed by Paradox North, has been downloaded over 500,000 times since the game began its Open Beta phase last week.

2. The recent launch of Tropico 5, the latest title in the popular series of political simulation and city building games, has been the most successful launch in the history of the series for the Kalypso Media Group. The game has achieved international chart success with worldwide sales reaching over six figures. Tropico 5 went straight to #2 in the German full-price charts, while it also reached #4 in the UK and hit the #1 top spot on Steam.

3. Electronic Arts sent our a press release predicting that Germany will win the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. Using the EA SPORTS football engine that drives EA SPORTS 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, EA was able to simulate the 2014 FIFA World Cup and test all 32 teams under the same conditions they will face in the weeks ahead in Brazil. It was determined that Germany will defeat Brazil 2-1 (ET) at the Estádio do Maracană on July 13 to win the country's fourth FIFA World Cup, becoming the first European nation to win the FIFA World Cup on South American soil. Four years ago, EA SPORTS accurately predicted that Spain would prevail as the tournament champions.
