  • Gamespy is reporting that Novalogic will announce the first expansion to Joint Operations featuring several new environments, characters, and several new vehicles.
  • We were informed that all of the races in Shadowbane are now available to all subscribers, regardless of how long they have had their subscription. This means that the Aracoix, Centaur, and Minotaur Races that previously could not be accessed with new accounts will now be able to choose one of these Races from day one. The Aracoix, Centaur, and Minotaur races will not be available to 15-Day Free Trial customers. Furthermore, this does not include the Nephilim that comes with the purchase of The Rise of Chaos Expansion Pack nor Races associated with future Expansions.
  • A demo for Kohan II: Kings of War, the fantasy-based RTS game developed by TimeGate Studios, will be released in the near future. Kohan II is currently in manufacturing for retail distribution and will be available around September 21st at a suggested retail price of $39.99.
  • The Mac version of Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII has hit beta status and is expected to ship in late October. The game requires the full version of Battlefield 1942? for Mac OS to play Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later, PowerPC G4/G5, 867 MHz or faster, 256 MB of RAM, 2 GB free disk space (including original game), 3D Graphics Acceleration required (ATI Radeon 7500/nVidia GeForce 2 or better), 32MB of Video Ram (VRAM), and DVD drive required to install and play. Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII will be available for preorder from here.
  • Digital Jesters has started a new "skinning" competition for their sports RTS title Chaos League. Open to anyone, it allows all the budding digital fashion designers out there to design new uniforms for their team or individual players. The winning entry will walk off with a top of the range NVIDIA Geforce 6800 GT Golden Sample graphics card. All entries will be paraded up and down the virtual catwalk in front of a panel of distinguished DJ staff and forum moderators. Closing date for submissions will be on the 30th of November 2004.   • Virtual Projects announced the release of version 2.3 of JoyMouse, an intriguing utility application that allows using any standard joystick as a complete mouse device substitute. JoyMouse v2.3 supports all six possible joystick axes, 32 buttons, 4/8-direction POV and allows emulating all mouse actions on a standard analog or digital joystick while providing for dozens of other handy actions and keystroke sequences to be assigned to action-free buttons and POV.
