GUILTY GEAR ISUKA GOES GOLD, COMES EXCLUSIVELY TO PLAYSTATION®2 NOV. 2, 2004
Carlsbad, CA – October 12, 2004 — Sammy Studios, Inc., a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment content, today announced that Guilty Gear Isuka™ has gone gold.
Developed by Arc System Works exclusively for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Guilty Gear Isuka is the new sequel in the critically acclaimed series promising to raise the bar on what a 2D fighting game should offer. The new title retains trademark qualities that have made Guilty Gear a premier franchise in its genre, such as stunning, high-resolution graphics, over the top character design and one of the most precise fight systems ever conceived. Yet Guilty Gear Isuka is not just an upgrade, it is a revolution in 2D fighting for a new generation of fans, with four-player simultaneous play, a two-player side-scrolling action game and the ability to program your own fighter. Guilty Gear Isuka is rated T for Teen by the ESRB, and slated to release on November 2, 2004 at an MSRP of $49.95.
“Guilty Gear Isuka is the long-awaited sequel in this critically acclaimed series, one that fans have been anticipating for nearly two years,” said Tim Pivnicny, senior VP of Sales & Marketing, Sammy Studios, Inc. “The tremendous excitement behind this title stems from a number of groundbreaking features being introduced to the series. Additions such as four-player mode and a programmable fighter to what many already consider a premier fighting game series makes Guilty Gear Isuka the 2D fighting title to own for this generation’s gamers.”
Guilty Gear Isuka is the sequel to Guilty Gear X2, the acclaimed hit that became one of the highest rated 2D fighting games of all time. The new title descends further into the twisted Guilty Gear universe, where a tournament is formed to recruit humans skilled enough to fight genetically altered soldiers called Gears. Guilty Gear Isuka introduces revolutionary features to the series. For the first time, players can battle with four-players simultaneously, allowing for 2-on-2, 3-on-1 and 4 player free-for-all battles. Boost Mode is new action game added to the series, delivering an arcade-style 2-player ‘beat ‘em up’ based in the Guilty Gear universe. Boost Mode allows players to choose from the full roster of Guilty Gear fighters, each fully equipped with their arsenal of moves and combos. Guilty Gear Isuka also introduces the first-ever programmable fighter in Factory Mode, where players can take the newly introduced character Robo Ky II and equip him with trademark moves and combos drawn from other fighters on the Guilty Gear roster. Additional enhancements in the sequel include three brand new characters, a character color palette edit mode, an all-new slate of background environments and new music from the series’ trademark rock and metal soundtrack.
