• elkware has announced that it has secured a license from Universal Studios Consumer Products Group to create mobile games based on the television series that defined the 1980's, Miami Vice. • Aspyr Media, Inc. announced that it is bringing id Software's DOOM 3 to Macintosh. The game is rated M for Mature by the ESRB and is available for preorder at www.aspyr.com for $49.99. Details here.


• The overwhelming support from the Shadowbane community has convinced the development team of Throne of Oblivion expansion to include an extra character slot. For those who purchase the Shadowbane: Throne of Oblivion, they will have seven character slots per account - this will include those accounts that upgrade from Shadowbane to Throne of Oblivion since this expansion will include access to the content from the Rise of Chaos expansion.


• Aspyr Media has launched the Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Breakthrough 2.40a Update for Mac, available here and here (the patch adds support for Team ID's in GameRanger and has better auto detection of graphics and game settings). Also, the Medal of Honor & Spearhead Combo Update has been launched, upgrading the Medal of Honor to v1.14a and Spearhead expansion (if installed) to v2.15 - it contains numerous bug fixes including some crashes and rendering problems, and adds support for more monitor resolutions. • DUPUIS (publisher of the printed cartoon strips Largo Winch) and Overloaded | Fun Everywhere have signed a deal for the development and exploitation of the well known cartoon strip and TV character Largo Winch on mobile phones. The game will be available for download to mobile phones before February 2005 and available at operators and mobile portals around the world.
