Shortly after
Blizzard announced that the
World of Warcraft open beta test has started, the World of Warcraft community site and the open beta account-creation pages were hammered, so you have to wait until Blizzard will put them back online. Bear in mind that the access to the open beta test will be limited based on server capacity, so if more people download the open beta client than can be supported by the open beta servers, some people might not get the opportunity to play.
World of Warcraft will be released in North American stores on November 23, 2004. World of Warcraft will launch simultaneously in Australia and New Zealand, and is planned for release in Korea, Europe, and other countries throughout Asia shortly following. World of Warcraft will be available for a suggested retail price of $49.99 in the U.S., and will include a free one-month subscription to the game. Don't forget to download the (amazing) intro
movie.
