CDV has launched a new
Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars contest, a a chance for fans and gamers to show off their artistic sides by putting together the best Cossacks II wallpaper they can and maybe win a prize for it. The contest runs for the next four weeks, with Cossacks II community forum members choosing the winners. The rules for the contest, along with some artwork to get contestants started, is available
here. Prizes include copies of Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars when it ships, and very cool "Napoleon hats." Also, the top three wallpapers, as chosen by the community, will be posted to the official Cossacks II
site for download.

Macrospace, the European studio of mobile entertainment publisher
Sorrent Inc., announced that it has received two nominations in the upcoming BAFTA Games Awards, for
Fatal Force: Earth Assault and
Ancient Empires. The first game also collected the "Best Mobile Game" award at the 4th Annual Mobile Choice Consumer Awards. For more information, click

Zone 2 Media, spreads on mobile phones - you will find on its

6. Korea-based online games company,
Webzen, Inc. announced it is entering the U.S. online games market and is immediately opening a U.S. operation in Los Angeles. As part of Webzen, Inc.’s global expansion strategy, the subsidiary will be a full-scale game developer, publisher and distributor. The company plans to bring to market in the U.S. multiple online game titles, including the massively multiplayer online role-playing game
SUN, and titles specifically designed for American gamers.
Webzen, Inc. will also develop game properties for the next generation game consoles. The official announcement of Webzen, Inc.’s upcoming product line will be made in February.
