Electronic Arts has released the first patch for The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth, bringing this real-time strategy game to v1.01 (thanks: 3DGamers). The update adds three new multiplayer maps (Northern Ithilien, Black Gate and Eaves of Fangorn), the communicator feature, some gameplay tweaks and bugfixes - press 'read more' for details.
