First Unreal Engine 3 Game Shows Off Multi-threaded Physics Simulation on Intel Dual-Core Processor
More news from Game Developer Conference 2005 (GDC): Naked Sky Entertainment showcased a demo of RoboHordes (working title), a 3D robot combat game which uses assets from advanced robot configuration and simulation technology from Naked Sky’s current project, RoboLords. Demonstrating the power of Intel's dual-core processor, the RoboHordes demo was the first game to use Unreal Engine 3 at a playable frame rate. The game also uses the Novodex physics engine and features massive numbers of robots, all behaving according to the rules of physics and without a single hand-generated frame of animation.
