     1. Foundation 9 Entertainment, Inc. announced that it is officially moving into development for next-gen consoles in a number of its studios. Already with a next-gen title based on the Dirty Harry franchise being developed by The Collective in Newport Beach, Foundation 9’s Backbone Emeryville studio is also working on an unannounced next-gen project, and Pipeworks and Backbone Vancouver are delving into next-gen development as well. In addition to these projects for next-gen consoles, the company is also hard at work on nearly 30 titles for all current platforms across its five major studios.
     2. Orion Information Services inked a deal with Brightcontent LLC, a division of Brightstar, to provide the full range of delivery services for its offerings to the Spanish speaking market in the US. Brightcontent, operating under the name of Alvento, offers ringtones, Java games, news updates, and a host of other wireless downloadables. Details here.
     3. Aspyr Media announced that LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game has shipped on the Mac. Licensed from LucasArts, LEGO Star Wars was produced by Giant Interactive Entertainment and developed for the Mac by i5works.
     4. Cyber Shack, a CBN Media brand, is finalizing development of an Australian portal for PSP users that will go live at the end of the month. PSP.CyberShack.com will allow PSP owners to view the Cyber Shack website in a resized format and access all the competitions, text editorials and downloads that thousands of pc users currently enjoy. Video content that includes Cyber Shack reviews, previews, walk through's and publisher game trailers will be available for saving to the PSP memory stick in a format that is optimized to watch on the PSP. Archive's of the Cyber Shack radio show will also be available for download.
     5. Aspyr Media, Inc. also announced the Mac version of Electronic Arts popular golf game, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 has arrived in retail stores. The title was developed for the Mac by Aspyr Studios, Aspyr's internal development team, under license from EA.
     6. GarageGames announced that IndieGamesCon '05 (IGC) will take place in October 7-9, 2005. Speakers include Melv May on 2D game design, Ill Clan on machinima, John Welsh and Dave Nixon on the casual gaming industry, Thomas Buscaglia on legal issues, Ageia on the future of game physics, Ryan Gordon on Mac OS X game development, Microsoft on Xbox development and many more industry veterans. Early registration is online and costs $195 for a three-day pass, including sessions, t-shirt, food, LAN parties and beverage of choice ("beer") for those registering before September 16th. Space is limited, so reservations will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registrations after September 16th will be $250. More information is available website
