TECMO PREMIERES NINJA GAIDEN FOR XBOX AT E3
Long-awaited Ninja Adventure Set to Sneak onto Shelves Early Next Year
LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 22, 2002 — At the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Tecmo® announced the highly-anticipated blockbuster Ninja Gaiden® will be coming to the XboxTM video game system from Microsoft. This ninja action/adventure title has been rumored to be in development for years, leading many editorial publications to speculate constantly as to which platform will be home to this killer application. Tecmo has confirmed that it will be coming exclusively to Xbox in Spring 2003.
At an E3 press conference held earlier today, Tecmo officially confirmed Ninja Gaiden was coming and showed editors and attendees a video of it. The video was three minutes long and featured dramatic footage, which showed off the in-game graphics. The audience was stunned with its impressive crystal-clear graphics, and brilliant detail, giving it a convincing realistic appearance.
Tecmo's Director of Sales and Marketing, John Inada, said "It feels great to finally lift the veil of secrecy surrounding Ninja Gaiden. This game has been the subject of more rumors and speculation than any other title I've encountered. The original Ninja Gaiden games on the Nintendo Entertainment System sold well over a million copies in the US market alone, so there are a lot of fans out there who have been clamoring for this for a very long time. This year's E3 marks the grand unveiling of the game, a first chance for people to see it in motion and talk about it. Everyone we've spoken to has been raving about it."
