The patch is needed to connect to the ubi.com servers
UbiSoft issued a new patch for Chessmaster 10th Edition, bringing the latest chapter of the popular chess series to v1.03. The update fixes online conectivity problems. Be sure to grab the single-player demo if you haven't done so yet.
