Before the geniuses over at Capcom decided to change the gameplay entirely for Resident Evil 4, it was similar to the previous installments of the series. Some minor changes were made, like the over the shoulder shooting mode, but the core gameplay remained the same. Don't start crying immediately that you will never be able to play this 'version' of Resident Evil 4, because we have found a video of the Resident Evil 4 Alpha (Thanks YouTube). While this alpha version certainly lookes more eerie and looks graphically superior, the new gameplay style was probably the best choice after all.
