Activision and
Infinity Ward let us know the patch for
Call of Duty 2, announced back in December (
story), is currently in testing, and will include Punkbuster functionality, two new multiplayer maps, and HTTP redirect in multiplayer, which adds an option for modders to send players to an external website to download their maps and mods. The patch will also repair multiplayer exploits and minor bug fixes. On the other hand, the update for the Xbox 360 version of the game will address the player lag, and will add private game lobbies and reserved slots. It will also enable Live Host to set custom game options, enemy player name notification, and the host ability to kick players.
