Monday we added 23 new screenshots to our gallery from the game Dead Rising, illustrating this survival horror game which will be available in North America, Europe and Japan in 2006. The hero of the story is Frank West, a grizzled freelance photographer who has made his way to an idyllic suburban town to get his hands on the scoop. To his surprise, he soon discovers that the town has been overrun with zombies. As he fights tooth and nail against hordes of gruesome zombies, Frank must discover the cause of the disturbing outbreak. You can view the screenshots here.

Also on Monday Capcom released new screenshots from their newest Xbox 360 title, Lost Planet. Set within the merciless frozen tundra of a hostile planet, humans struggle for survival as conflicts arise between man, the surrounding indigenous creatures and the monstrous beings that have invaded. With a gripping single player campaign and numerous multiplayer modes, Lost Planet promises to deliver an intense cinematic gameplay experience when it is released next winter. On Tuesday Capcom released a new batch of screenshots from Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, the first Capcom title for Xbox Live Arcade. Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting takes advantage of the online features of Xbox 360 with its exclusive mode, Quarter Match and will be available on Xbox Live Arcade in early 2006. EA Games announced that Battlefield 2: Euro Force has been postponed until sometime after the release of the upcoming Battlefield 2 1.21 patch which will remove the issues introduced by the previous patch. Battlefield 2: Euro Force will offer three new maps (Operation Smoke Screen, The Great Wall of China and Taraba Quarry), seven new weapons (FNP90, Tactical Shotgun) and four new vehicles. Wednesday GameSpot reported that Monolith has plans to develop sequels to F.E.A.R.(First Encounter Assault Recon). Because Vivendi Universal Games owns the name F.E.A.R., the Monolith' sequel(s) will have a new, as-yet-unannounced title. But Monolith owns the rights to the game's characters, so their sequels should have same story and same universe as original game. Check out the article here.

Thursday Turbine, Inc. announced that Midway will co-publish The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar in North America. Lord of the Rings Online is the world's first and only massively multiplayer online (MMO) role playing game based upon the literary works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Check out the Press Release here.

After rumours of another Half-Life 2 Episode on Tuesday, Eurogamers reported that Half-Life 2: Episode 1 will be a Stand-Alone game which means it won't be required to own Half Life 2 in order to play Episode 1. “Half-Life 2: Episode 1 won't actually require Half-Life 2 to play, Valve's explained, and although the game will be four to six hours ong, marketing director Doug Lombardi reckons it's "markedly richer" in terms of content quality.” You will be able to get your copy from Steam for only $19.99 April 24th.

Bethasda Softworks announced that Fallout 3 won’t be showcased at this year’s E3. Bethesda Softworks public relations head Pete Hines told GameSpot: "Much like with Oblivion, we don't like to talk about games until we're a fair ways along in development and cannot only talk about it, but show it".
