Activision sent us new concept art, renders,
screenshots and two new trailers from
X-Men: The Official Game, an action game that will provide the back-story for the upcoming
X-Men: The Last Stand movie. Co-written by Zak Penn, the screenwriter of movies X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand, and legendary comic book writer Chris Claremont, the game will allow players to assume the roles of Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Iceman. X-Men: The Official Movie Game is developed by
Z-Axis (PlayStation 2, Xbox and Xbox 360),
Hypnos (Nintendo GameCube),
Amaze (Nintendo DS),
Wayfoward (GameBoy Advance) and
Beenox (PC). The game is due to ship on May 16th 2006.
Update: Activision also announced that Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Alan Cumming and Shawn Ashmore will reprise their X-Men film roles and lend their voices to Marvel’s world famous mutants in the game - Logan/Wolverine, Professor Charles Xavier, Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler and Bobby Drake/Iceman (press 'read more' for details.
