CDV Software has released a playable demo for Darkstar One, giving you the chance to try out this 3D space-sim developed by Ascaron (thanks: GameSpot). The demo contains an extensive tutorial and offers the opportunity to play in free-form mode, create your own adventure on the fly, or follow the storyline to learn more about the death of the lead character's father, and the mysterious ship, the DarkStar One. The E3 2006 trailer is locally mirrored here and the German demo can be found here. The release of the game is scheduled for August 11th in the UK and for August 14th in the US.
