Xicat Interactive sets it's sights on their new hit man release, Sniper: Path of Vengeance. Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. August 14, 2002 Xicat Interactive, Inc., a publisher of award-winning video game software, is locked, loaded and aiming high with the release of "Sniper: Path of Vengeance." Powered by the Lithtech Jupiter engine, the game drops you head-on into the merciless world of a hit man out for revenge. Xicat, a four year-old company, expects Sniper to be their biggest hit yet. "We¹ve had more advance orders for Sniper: Path of Vengeance than any of our past releases. We¹ve already increased production numbers and are ready to bump them again if (sales) projections are met,² says Bradley Flack, Director of Sales for Xicat Interactive. After being set up and drugged, a hit man known only as the Sniper, awakes in prison with one thing on his mind, revenge. Once free from his cell, a John Woo-esque blood bath ensues as our "hero," the Sniper, shoots his way out of prison and scours the city for those responsible. Prison guards, crooked cops, Chinese crime bosses and the mob, are added to the ever-growing trail of dead. Sniper has no alliances, only those who stand in the way of his ultimate goal: VENGEANCE. Lithtech¹s Jupiter Engine is the horsepower behind this adrenaline-filled first-person shooter; Sniper being the first title created with Lithtech¹s stunning new engine. The game¹s brilliant visual effects, excellent playability and macabre story line sets players loose, guns blazing through 25 levels of blood-splattering brutality, made more realistic with the availability of regenerating food items, pain killers, prostitutes and an extensive arsenal of weapons. Sniper: POV also features a unique RPG element, where players can customize their "ideal killer" with unique character building tools. Xicat predicts that "Sniper: Path of Vengeance" will become the new benchmark in first-person action games. Sniper will be available on PC throughout North American on September 17, 2002, and is rated M for blood, strong language and violence. Xicat is already eyeing their next big "hit" and has plans to release four PC titles, three Microsoft Xbox titles, three Game Boy Advance titles, and one Playstation 2 title before year-end 2002.
