Sega today announced that Dakota Blue Richards and Freddie Highmore voiced their characters for The Golden Compass. This is Dakota’s first major acting role, as she was picked from 1000 girls who auditioned for the part of Lyra in the film. The game is being developed by Shiny Entertainment and based on the first book in His Dark Materials trilogy, by British author Philip Pullman. The Golden Compass will ship Christmas 2007, just prior to the opening of the New Line Cinema motion picture on December 7th.
