Silverlode Interactive have announced that a second and final phase of the Beta test for Saga will start on December 11th, so if you want to play, make sure you register. You will need a serial key in order to play the game. To get a key, simply sign up for the BETA on the game homepage, though keys will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis. Saga has no subscription fees. Players pay as little or as much as they decide, by purchasing 'booster packs' of random troops and spells, which are traded and customized to create the strategic army of choice for each player. The game client is now locally mirrored here.
