Activision Value's ``The Gladiators of Rome'' for the PC Enters the Arena MINNEAPOLIS - Nov. 14, 2002 - The spectacle and valor of the Roman arenas will be recreated on the PC with the release of "The Gladiators of Rome" from Activision Value, a division of Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI - News). The real-time strategy game challenges players to train, equip and lead a troop of gladiators as they progress through small arenas to the great coliseums of Rome. "The Gladiators of Rome" is available at retail stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $19.99 and has been rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB. "In 'The Gladiators of Rome' players can return to the golden age of the empire and experience the exhilaration and fear of the ancient Roman sport," said Patrick Kelly, Vice President of Studios, Activision Value Publishing. "With dozens of different ways for players to equip and train their fighters, 'The Gladiators of Rome' combines the best of a strategy game with the fun and excitement of an action game." Players take on the role of a trainer of would-be heroes pitted against all odds to become an elite Roman fighter. Gamers begin with little money and no experience as they buy weapons, armor and training materials to develop their fighters. To advance their gladiators further, players can earn more coin by risking life and limb in the Roman arenas. Once the action starts, authentic coliseums come alive with lions, clashing warriors and the roar of the mob. In order to help assure victory, players will be able to marshal their fighters and issue commands from an overhead perspective. Those that survive the arena will be stronger for their efforts, those that don't become food for the lions. Minimum system requirements for "The Gladiators of Rome" include a Pentium 500Mhz, 64 MB RAM, a Sound Card, 3D Accelerator, 300 MB of Hard Drive space, 8X CD ROM, Mouse and Keyboard and Windows 98/ME/2000/XP.
