Announcing the financial results for its first quarter ended January 31, 2008, 2K Games has confirmed that Bioshock 2 is in the works at 2K Marin and is planned for release in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. Contrary to previous rumor (story), Bioshock 2 will not be a prequel but a sequel to the popular game developed by 2K Boston (ex-Irrational Games).
