INTRODUCTION
Thank you for downloading the Starshatter Demo 3.7.5. This file
will give you a brief overview of what is new and improved about
the game with this patch. For more information, please join the
online message board for the game at the official website.
BUG FIXES
* Beam weapons now do correct damage against shielded targets
* Beam weapons can now hit and destroy drones
* Turret weapons on fighters correctly default to defensive
fire mode (the primary gun always defaults to player control)
* Own ship is now only selectable in F3 orbit cam
* Missile ETA display no longer capped at 4 minutes
* HUD now displays long ranges using "M" for millions of meters
* Navlights, drive flares, and some weapons effects are now
visible at ranges up to 1,000 km
* Improved support for lead pursuit missiles
* Improved AI tactical decision making (and feedback)
* Approximate range data now returned for passive contacts
* Double-click on HUD elements no longer sets starship helm

NEW FEATURES
* MOD Configurator - This version allows you to download third
party game mods as single .dat archive files and enable or
disable them from within the game. This makes it much easier
to manage several different mods, and even lets you use
different mods in combination at the same time. You can also
see more information about each mod, including description,
author, and copyright.
* Mission Editor - Create and edit your own custom missions
from within the game. No more messing around with .def
syntax just to set up a quick dogfight!
* Player Logbook - Keep track of your all time stats, including
flight time, missions, kills, and losses. You can have several
different player profiles, each with different gameplay settings.
* Exec Command - Press Shift+M to assign command of your starship
to the Executive Officer. This allows you to focus on the
overall tactical situation in a large fleet maneuver.
* AI Difficulty Levels - There are now three difficulty levels
to choose from. The original AI setting is the "Ace" level.
Two easier levels have been added: "Veteran" and "Rookie".
NEW MOD TOOLS
* Animated weapon sprites
* Integrity value for drone weapons
* Missile eject vector
* WC-style capacitor based shields
* New starship classes: Corvette, Battleship, Dreadnaught
* Ship design setting to control starship banked turns
* Ship design params to enable weapons and repair screens
in all ship classes
