In a nice turn of events, Codemasters today announced they have reached an agreement with Sega for taking over the Sega Racing Studio, based in Solihull, central England. Sega Racing Studio was to be closed due to poor sales of Sega Rally. This way, the studio and its 40 people pass under Codemasters' command for developing further racing titles, hopefully a lot better than the one which almost brought their doom.
