  • Ryan Starr is Abducted Insert Coin's latest project is a fully featured game demo, aimed at kids. You control Ryan Starr who has been abducted by aliens and must find his way home. The team had three basic objectives that they wanted to accomplish with Ryan Starr is abducted. The first was to create a game that is fresh, original and most importantly fun to play. To that end the concept was developed and refined through several iterations while keeping the important design elements - ease of play, colourful locations and a fresh angle on the science fiction genre. The Game lets players control Ryan, a small child who has been unexpectedly shrunk then beamed and imprisoned within his newest and most bizarre toy. Luckily he is not alone, his favourite toy, a monkey was instinctively grabbed by Ryan as the beam of light encased him, resulting in Monkey coming to life and standing a third Ryan's size within the toy game environment. Ryan and Monkey quickly discover that they are not alone, they are trapped in a room with robots. Ryan Starr was originally designed by Jay Daniells 2 years ago. He has been developed for this game with a new companion character monkey. Monkey was also designed by Jay Daniells. The game was developed using the Quest 3D engine, which Insert Coin won for their Dr Morbius Movie. Nigel Robinson was responsible for developing a new understanding of Quest 3D to enable complex characters to move within a detailled environment and interact realistically. The gameplay invloves solving simple puzzles which involve Ryan throwing monkey and object interaction.
