Tron 2.0 is a LithTech Triton-powered action game (with roleplaying & adventure game elements thrown in for good measure) that hopes to capture the magic of the upcoming Disney film of the same name.
Players enter into a computer system and battle it out with various corrupt computer & security programs in hopes of finding their father (who has been captured and digitized into the machine by an evil Internet company) and escaping. Activities in this computer generated world include the classic light-cycle race, disc fighting, puzzle solving and exploring the vast computer environments you have been inadvertently digitized into.
Tron 2.0 picks up 20 years after the events of the film and is really the sequel to the 1982 movie. In the single-player game, you play as Jet Bradley, a young computer programmer who finds himself transported into the digital world inside the computer. Jet is the son of Alan Bradley, who was the creator of the Tron program in the film and was played by Bruce Boxleitner.
The single-player game will have gladiatorial elements, like light cycle racing and disc battles on the battle rings, but it's more of a story-based first-person action game. However, the multiplayer game definitely follows the "Game Grid as Gladiatorial Arena" theme.
There will also be several multiplayer maps where you will be able to go one-on-one against opponents as well as engage in team-based missions within a variety of Game Grid environments.
