Take Over the World as a Gargantuan Monster in I Was an Atomic Mutant for PC from ValuSoft
Players Become Retro B-Movie Monsters on a Rampage of Nuclear Proportions
MINNEAPOLIS - Feb. 4, 2003 - ValuSoft®, a division of THQ® Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI - News) and leading global publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment and productivity software, today announced the release of I Was an Atomic Mutant(TM) for PC.
Players will become 1950s and 1960s movie monsters with ultimate powers of destruction. I Was an Atomic Mutant is rated "T" for Teen and will be available at retailers nationwide for $19.99 SRP.
As a victim of a horrible scientific experiment, players will become one of four monsters, each with unique nuclear powers, to exact revenge on all mankind. With "The Wrath of the She-Beast," gamers will stomp and toss everything in their path, including tanks and innocent bystanders. Choosing to become "The Brain From Beyond Infinity," will give players the ability to incinerate all of humanity using their nuclear psychosis. Players will vent their rage by trampling puny humans and destroying buildings with their hideous breath as "Reptomicus" the Atomic Lizard, and will use their death rays to blast past advancing enemies as the "Invader from Dimension X," a towering Alien Attack Robot.
"We are the first to bring the nostalgia of B-movie monsters to the PC at a price everyone can afford," states Doug Clemmer, President of ValuSoft. "I Was an Atomic Mutant! embraces many elements of classic movies that made them campy, outrageous favorites such as echoing voiceovers, exaggerated camera angles and even an option to play in black and white."
Arcade-style design adds to the exhilarating destruction as gamers play for a high score. Points are earned and Atomic Power-Ups are revealed as they wreak havoc in desert cities while battling merciless military bombardments and strafing planes.
Movies, screen shots and a single level demo are available at www.atomicmutant.com. I Was an Atomic Mutant! was developed by Canopy Productions, Inc.
"We wanted to craft a tribute to our favorite Saturday matinee creatures, but with game play that was enjoyable to players of every level," states Michael Berglund, Executive Producer at Canopy Games. "With high score objectives and multiple levels of play, we succeeded in creating a game that is full of stomping and smashing fun."
