Killer Bee Software today announced that Empire Deluxe Internet Edition - a remake of the classic turn-based strategy wargame developed in 1993 by Mark Baldwin and Bob Rakosky - is now in beta test phase. This closed beta includes two dozen testers and is planned for approximately two months. Check the official site for more details.
Press Release: March 3rd, 2003 Killer Bee Software's "Empire Deluxe Internet Edition" Enters Beta Test Phase Saturday, March 1st, 2003 Killer Bee Software entered its Beta testing phase for its game title "Empire Deluxe Internet Edition". This closed beta period is planned for approximately two months. The test includes over two dozen testers from various world locations with machines ranging from 200 mHz to 3.0 gHz, on Microsoft's 95, 98, ME, 2000, and XP operating systems. They are to test the validity of the 32 bit port of the game, as well as the new features and Internet Play. "All the features are in the game and it has been released to the beta group" said Mark Kinkead, owner and founder of Killer Bee Software. "There is a lot of excitement, as fans and players are looking at the new features that have been put in the game. Players old and new will not be disappointed." Empire Deluxe is a turn-based, abstract strategy wargame, developed in 1993 by Mark Baldwin and Bob Rakosky. The game is played on a strategic level with armies, fleets, and air squadrons. Empire Deluxe is based upon Walter Bright's "EMPIRE, Wargame of the Century" created in the late seventies. Mark Kinkead, of Killer Bee Software, acquired the rights to Empire Deluxe and the Perfect General in December, 2002.
