Brace for Crushing Pit & Bone-Jarring Track Action in Demolition Champions from ValuSoft
First Game Release in Publishing Deal with City Interactive
MINNEAPOLIS - March 5, 2003 - ValuSoft®, a division of THQ® Inc. (Nasdaq:THQI - News) and leading global publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment and productivity software, today announced the release of Demolition Champions(TM). Unique game play puts players both on the track and in the pits for all-out metal-crunching racing action. Demolition Champions is rated "E" for everyone and will be available at retailers nationwide for $19.99 SRP.
This is a fierce, fuel-pumping fight to the finish as players jump behind the wheel of 20 cars for bumper-to-bumper action at 28 venues including pit, rally, stadium and parking lot environments. Gamers will experience the thrills of real racing action with spectacular special effects including crushed and flying hoods, lost bumpers, sparks and skid marks. Whether racing at the track or in dog-eat-dog pit competitions, players can rev up their engines with single-player arcade or extended career modes. Demolition Champions supports multiplayer races via LAN or Internet against up to eight players.
"This is the game every demolition derby fan has been waiting for," states Doug Clemmer, President of ValuSoft. "Now players can prove they are the demolition champion both at the track with all-out racing action and in the pits against drivers who will do anything to win."
Demolition Champions is the first in a two-title publishing agreement between ValuSoft and City Interactive. In the second game, Codename Nina: Global Terrorism Strike Force(TM), players take on the role of a beautiful but dangerous army-of-one special agent named Nina, charged with fighting international terrorism. Gamers will travel to the world's hot spots to prevent rogue governments from unleashing their deadly threats on the innocent. Top international model, Iza Czarnecka, stars as Nina and worked with the developers to create an uncanny likeness of the Polish beauty. Codename Nina: Global Terrorism Strike Force is rated "M" for Mature and will arrive in stores in April with an SRP of $19.99.
"We are very excited to appear in the North American market with such a well established publisher," states Mark Tyminski, Chief Executive Officer of City Interactive. "Their product portfolio perfectly fits our strategy of developing high-quality, reasonably-priced titles."
