Dinosaurs Come Alive in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis Vivendi Universal Games Ships World-Building, Mission-Based Action Game Playable on Multiple Platforms LOS ANGELES, April 8 - Vivendi Universal Games announced today that it has shipped Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, a world building game complete with action packed missions, to retailers nationwide. Inspired by Universal Pictures' and Amblin Entertainment's Jurassic Park franchise and developed by Blue Tongue Software of Melbourne, Australia, the game is available for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox(TM) video game system from Microsoft and the PC. Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is two games in one. Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is a powerful, yet easy-to-use world-builder that invites players to fulfill Dr. John Hammond's dream by creating and managing their own dinosaur theme park -- from choosing the shape of their island and building viewing platforms to adding new dinosaur species and varying the price of admission. It is also an action game that challenges players to rescue stranded park visitors, pilot a helicopter and regain control of rampaging dinosaurs in 12 intense mission sequences. "The lush 3D jungle environments and incredibly detailed dinosaur models of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis recreate the Jurassic Park world for powerful next-generation platforms," said Philip O'Neil, SVP Sales & Marketing, Vivendi Universal Games. "Additionally, the action-packed missions provide a variety in gameplay not seen in other world-building titles." The Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis development team worked closely with Jurassic Park Institute (JPI) to ensure that the dinosaurs look and act realistically. This realism adds authenticity and depth to the game by considering the characteristics of each dinosaur, provide suitable dinosaur habitats, and balance multiple species within close proximity. Both Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park are among the highest grossing films of all time. The Jurassic Park franchise has already enjoyed more than $250 million in promotional support and $2.5 billion in worldwide consumer product sales, establishing Jurassic Park as the premier and leading dinosaur brand the world over. Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB. The game has a suggested retail price of $49.99.
