CITY interactive has released some new screenshots of Project Earth 2 (working title), showcasing its upcoming 3D space strategy sequel. The game features "advanced 3D graphics with real-time particles and faithful physical rendering", and is currently scheduled for a Q4 2003 release.
P2 [working title] is a brand new 3D space strategy. It is an ingenious compilation of the best elements, ideas and technical solutions taken from the great titles of this genre and combined in an innovative way. It also includes many novelties and improvements that could become a standard and that will be imitated by game developers in the years to come. The user interface is exceptionally clear and easy to operate, taking no more than a few moments for the average player to become familiar with it. At the same time, the interface is structured so that the player can use the full range of the available options without missing a second of what is happening on the screen. The available options are activated intuitively and they don't block out the screen, allowing the player to admire the magnificent landscapes and dramatic battles. P2 has an exceptional storyline which makes it stand out from the many other titles in the genre. Instead of fighting evil alien races that threaten mankind, the player takes command of a small group of unjustly exiled people who only want to prove their innocence. The people under the player's command are exactly like him, which allows him to identify more easily with the protagonists. This will help us to attract players to the title and make them become totally engrossed in it. This game uses an advanced 3D graphics engine with real-time particles and faithful physical rendering which have been considerably developed and expanded since the prequel. However, the basic objectives of the game are fun and action, so you don't have to be afraid of getting stuck in a jungle of possible options and space-ship trajectory settings! What many striking graphical effects, such as carefully perfected space-ship silhouettes bristling with weapons, P2 also features beautiful music tracks which enhances the dramatic effect.
