A new version of Merciless 1942 is now available for download, bringing this Battlefield 1942 enhancement pack to v4.0. Merciless 1942 is THE only 100% historic add-on for 1942. Along with numerous additional gifts, you get a great customized GUI for playing 1942. This pack is 100% compatible with single player and multiplayer games.   • What is Merciless 1942? This pack contains THE only 100% historic add-on for 1942. Along with numerous additional gifts, you get a great customized GUI for playing 1942. This pack is 100% compatible with single player and multiplayer games. This does not contain ANY cheats or game altering modifications to 1942. It is all cosmetic changes to the GUI. Based on true historical accuracy, we have strived to make Battlefield 1942 play as real as WW2 was, thus Merciless 1942. Even in the 4.0 version we have added new realistic effects and a massive sound overhaul that everyone asked for. Onward soldiers! Spread the word... Merciless 1942 is the way to play! Merciless 1942 version 4.0 - The MEGA List of NEW Features All audio master sampled for DYNAMIC RANGE ENHANCEMENT All audio based on 100% REALISTIC WW2 AUTHENTIC DIGITAL SAMPLE RECORDINGS Custom coded engine for varying sound detail levels for various users. (HIGH sound detail recommended with 64 channels) Added unique sounds for EVERY SINGLE tank. Each one has a unique engine and slightly different track sound. Left the APCs and Artillery units alone.. they are fine for now. Added in PAIN sounds. When you solder takes damage he could curse in his native tongue or scream in pain. Added in JUMP landing sounds. These will show up when you jump from a high distance and land or also parachute and land. Was originally designed to fix the silent parachute landings. Added new plane startup engine sputter audio. Changed all the "Soldier Collisions sounds" to low "thump" sounds. No more riding on vehicles and clambering audio. You will get pretty silent kills when you run over soldiers (unless they scream!) Added "air whiz" ricochet sounds to the mix. Added in close distance Flak burst to help pilots hear it tearing up the plane. Corrected new water ricochet sounds to produce real splashing effects. Reduced "Those !@% seagulls" another 50%. If they keep screaming I will kill them with my personal colt pistol! Added more ricochet sounds... these mix in all the current ones. Replaced the secret "Man in the Water Tank" audio with a smaller "Water Dripping" sound to save audio memory. Changed audio on Mosquito and BF110 to sound more realistic at all RPM levels. Added new B17 startup audio and secondary engine sound. Merciless 1942 Field Dossier Corrected No.4 reloading and K98 reloading and both shoot and reload with different audio. Added new Water swim sounds. Reduced climbing ladder sound to match rope and wooden ladders. Corrected the "Far Footsteps could be cheating / Metal Walk Bug" All terrain infantry sounds are now set to 1 instead of a distance of 25. Works, but oh well still sounds just as good. New background movie and music created for v4. New audio for Artillery - Priest and Wespe New audio for AT Guns - Pak40 and AT25 (fixed missing Dice reverb code) New audio for Defense Gun Shortened MP40 audio (German Axis medic machine gun) to help misfire timing Changed ALL terrain infantry sounds and enhanced them for realism and decreased the volume. Fixed infantry jump landing on sand, grass, and ice sounds Added audio when a vehicle is shot by a flak cannon (No more silent deaths!) This isn't a sound replacement for your 1942... this is a completely new addon expansion for it! · New audio changeover for all handguns and a new reload sound for the tanks too. Newly added Shellshock FX when a tank projectile shell misses its target and hits loose dirt or ground. Added BETA Aberdeen single player mode. AI Bots may path incorrect but we will address this in the future. Hand designed custom loader screens -They show the briefing of the battle, the battle history, the geographic location, the side and units involved, the time of day / weather and also historic propaganda posters for both opposing sides of the event or occurring time period. 100% Accurate Historic Flags in all tickets, bases, and screens. This includes single player and multiplayer screens. Base Untakable Flags - This was changed to a full flag image. It is obvious where base owned HQ areas are now. Icon changes to end game stats images - Awards and Kills. Instead of a trophy there is a golden star. Secondly, instead of 4 arrows pointing to a soldier there is a simple crosshair. Bullet Loader - Changed the loader image to a bullet magazine. Fixed player arrow for the minimap - Will show team color and small image. 1942 Startup Movie removal Hi Res flag textures for base flags outdoors. Engineer Recticle changed to provide greater accuracy. This will also show when using the knife, grenade and some guns nests. The Flak 38 recticle has been cleaned up and darkened somewhat. Revamped the crosshair to support large flak burst aiming. Respawn Location Icon changed - The icon on the minimap is now a bright yellow color for much easier identification of where you want to respawn to. Long Flashing Radio Call on GUI - When players radio call in requests, their location will flash longer than the new default time. This allows for easier target identification for Flak Cannon Sounds - Flak cannon sound was reduced in dB while actual flak bursts notifications. where increased in dB with all new accurate sounds. Sinking Ship Alarm Sound - Increased in dB and changed to reflect more accurate sound.
