GarageGames Serves Up Tennis Critters The PC game complete with slicing, lobbing and diving chipmunks May 30, 2003 - Eugene, OR - GarageGames today announced its launch of Tennis Critters from Nerd Riot Games. Tennis Critters brings classic 2D console tennis gameplay to the pc in full 3D with complete single and multiplayer challenges, both on one machine and online. Tennis Critters brings fast-paced tennis action with chipmunks to the PC. Up to four people can play Tennis Critters on a single machine. Players can also use the game's simple lobby interface to find opponents on the internet or over a local area network (LAN). The single-player mode of Tennis Critters features ten progressively more difficult computer-controlled opponents over three distinct difficulty levels, making it an exciting challenge for everyone from casual users to hardcore gamers. "I'm a classic gamer, and I love tennis games. Unfortunately, there aren't that many tennis games available for the PC. I was left playing decade old 16-bit tennis games just to satisfy my tennis needs." Doyoon Kim, founder of Nerd Riot Games and the sole programmer/artist of Tennis Critters, explains his inspiration for the game, "So with Tennis Critters, I wanted to recreate the simple gameplay of old-school 2D tennis games for today's 3D capable computers. And the game supports up to four players using keyboards or multiple joysticks so you can play with friends or family with or without a network." "Sometimes it is the simplest games that become the most addicting," comments Jay Moore, Evangelist for GarageGames. “With the quality of Doyoon's critters you forget you're playing against sophisticated computer AI and start taking each match against your chipmunk tennis competitor as a personal challenge." The free Tennis Critters demo for Windows (5.8MB) can be downloaded from http://www.garagegames.com/pg/demo.php?id=13. The full game is for sale exclusively from GarageGames for $19.95. Versions for Mac OS X and Linux will be available soon. http://www.garagegames.com/pg/product/view.php?id=13
