Moon Tycoon Game Guide 1. Introduction / Greetings! Welcome to Moon Tycoon! Be the first pioneer to conquer the final frontier... the Moon and beyond! The year is 2021. Earth is facing the greatest threat it has ever known - a global energy crisis! Booming populations and nations fast tracking into hi-tech living have greatly increased power needs over the last century. The damage is now catching up with us, and global oil reserves are almost empty. Alternate sources of energy are not enough. A new high yield energy source is needed. Nuclear power plants will be used to stop the immediate needs, but the high amount of dangerous radioactive waste produced in these Fission plants means that the world cannot rely on this for long. Nuclear Fusion, a clean source of high energy is the solution the world is looking for. But there is a problem. Helium 3, a necessary fuel component for Fusion is extremely rare on the Earth. The Moon however is most abundant in this resource. Hoping to avoid global chaos and a third world war, the United Nations has formed the Space Agency, a gathering of the top scientists, engineers, military personnel and politicians to colonize the Moon and successfully mine its much-needed Helium 3. The mission will be both dangerous and complicated, with the fate of the world resting on your success! Are you up to the challenge? 2. System Requirements - Windows 95/98/ME/2000 - Pentium 200MHz processor - 32MB RAM - Direct X7, compatible graphics card with 8MB of memory - Sound card - 700MB hard drive space 3. Installation / Troubleshooting Place your Moon Tycoon CD into your CD-ROM drive. If your computer is AutoPlay capable, the Moon Tycoon Launcher will automatically appear on the screen. Select INSTALL from the list to start the installation process. Follow the on-screen instructions. After the game is successfully installed, Moon Tycoon items will be added to the Programs Folder in your Start menu, and a Moon Tycoon icon will be added to your desktop. Moon Tycoon also requires DirectX to be installed. If your computer does not have DirectX, or has an older version of DirectX, the appropriate version will automatically be installed for you. After this installation, your computer will restart and then you will be able to start playing. If your system is not AutoPlay capable, double-click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, then double-click the CD-ROM drive icon. Select INSTALL from the list to start the installation process and follow the directions above. Alternately, you may double-click the file launcher.exe on your Moon Tycoon CD to start the Moon Tycoon Launcher. Note for Windows XP users: When you install Moon Tycoon, you will have an opportunity to run a patch from Microsoft for your XP operating system. This is recommended for players who have not already updated their system with Windows XP Service Pack 1, or subsequent updates. If you are not sure, just go ahead and run the patch - it will automatically check to see if you have a more recent version and therefore it will either complete its installation, or let you know it is not needed. If you did not run the patch at the time of installation, but would like to run it later, simply open the folder where you installed Moon Tycoon and run the file called Q319580.exe
