Yeti Studios has released a new benchmark utilizing the Gun Metal engine to generate 3D scenes that utilise a broadly-overlapping set of DirectX 9.0 features. "As Gun Metal is a real game, this benchmark presents real-world demands of users' hardware for an accurate performance measurement. The Benchmark really pushes today's latest hardware with real game requirements." Source: Guru3D. Gamer's Hell Local Download:

GUN METAL BENCHMARK Version 1.17S TROUBLESHOOTING If you experience any issues when running this benchmark then we would be extremely grateful if you could email a brief description as well as the file named gunmetal.log to support@yetistudios.com. We will then look into the problem for you. Gunmetal.log can be found in the same folder as the game EXE (usually, PROGRAM FILES, YETI STUDIOS, GUN METAL BENCHMARK 2). DirectX Gun Metal requires DirectX version 9 or later. If necessary, please download and install the latest version of DirectX, available from Microsoft. Video issues If you experience any video problems, please ensure your computer is using the latest version of the drivers for your graphics card. You can obtain updated drivers from the website of your hardware manufacturer, such as those listed below. * 3DLabs Wildcat VP series * ATI Radeon series * Matrox Parhelia series * Nvidia Geforce series If you continue to encounter problems, please try reverting to the default settings in your video adapter's advanced display properties applet. This is usually accessed from the Control Panel by selecting "Display", then selecting the "Settings" tab, and pressing the "Advanced" button below the slider controls for screen resolution and bit-depth. For maximum compatibility, we recommend selecting "default" or "off" for options such as "Antialiasing" and "Anisotropic filtering". Also, please ensure you do not disable "DXT texture formats" if your card offers the choice. Audio issues As with your graphics card, please ensure you are using the latest version of the drivers for your audio hardware. If problems persist, try reducing the level of audio hardware acceleration. In Windows 2000, you can do this from the "Sounds and Multimedia" applet in the Control Panel. Select the "Audio" tab, and press the "Advanced" button under Sound Playback. Please note: The Gun Metal Benchmark does not play any audio while testing your system. This is intentional, to ensure a more accurate measurement of rendering speed. Problems with music and/or introductory videos Gun Metal uses Microsoft Windows Media Audio (WMA) for music playback, and Windows Media Video (WMV) for video. If you do not have a recent version of Windows Media Player installed, your computer may be unable to correctly play these media types. This can be solved by downloading a newer version of Media Player from Microsoft. Copyright 2003 Yeti Studios Limited. All rights reserved.
