Last week,
Ubisoft made claim that
Splinter Cell: Conviction remained exclusive to Xbox 360 and PC, according to this
article. This week, in a GamesIndustry.biz
interview, Alain Corre adds in that the choice for exclusivity was a simple one that was made long ago. He doesn't go into detail, but simply says it was a choice they are confident in. He further defends the exclusivity by stating a lot of gamers have both the PS3 and Xbox 360, and in addition everyone has a PC at home, thus negating any worries over making back the money spent on development. All comments on most personal computers having really shoddy hardware aside, Ubisoft has started exclusive on a platform in the past and only gone over to be a multiplatform release later. Case in point:
Assassin's Creed. It is our bet that Splinter Cell: Conviction will be released on PS3 sometime later anyway, when either the money made back isn't as hoped or enough fans complain.
