To start the slew of Monday mod releases a new version of DeathBall is now available for download, bringing this popular Unreal Tournament 2003 mod to v1.8. DeathBall turns UT2003 into a mix of Football, American Football, Handball and war. In the end its a pure sports game, and at that a First Person Sports Game. This new release fixes some bugs, adds some changes to gameplay and more (read full story for details). Gamer's Hell Local Download:

  • About Deathball DeathBall turns UT2003 into a mix of Football, American Football, Handball and war. In the end its a pure sports game, and at that a First Person Sports Game. Don't expect this to be a shooter, just because its for UT2k3! So you got these football pitches, and you have to get the ball into the enemy goal. You have a melee weapon and a balllauncher. With your weapon you can kick other players around, kill the enemy ballowner with 2 hits and also kick the ball away (volley). In your own penalty zone you can kill all enemy players with one hit. With the ball launcher you can charge up a shot, the longer you hold it the harder it will be and you can even bend the ball, so it will curl in the air. Just like in football you should have a keeper in your goal. He has some special abilities like he's 130% faster than others & he can dodge. Death Ball should be played with 5 players on each team, but a few maps also support lower player counts. The gameplay is very easy too learn, but it's hard to master. At first it seems to be pretty simple, but the more you play the more you realise how complex it is and how many possibilities your team has. V1.8 (13.7.2003) Fixed uninstall bug! Gameplay: -Crouching debugged and back -Cannot catch ball in 0.2s after it was released (except keeper). Ball bounces off instead. -Fixed what people call "floor lag" -Fixed bug where pass aimcone is way too small -Fixed If a player is kicked for idling and they have the ball, it seems that the ball dissapears. -You hear the old catch sound when a player (except you) catches the ball (adrenelinpickup sound) -Chargeup sound louder -Sprint stamina down to 60% of 1.7 value. Other: -in beginning use announcer countdown instead of beep sound (3...2...1...) -when scored owngoal, in goallist swap color and add (og) -in goal history added "(v)" if ball was volleyed -when a ballowner is killed in enemy penalty zone, make this being considered as missed chance -stat for "blue/red half" showing how long the ball was in each half -only show hh: in goal history if the match lasts for at least 60 minutes -Worst passer award fixed -Change blue color in f3 (should be 0 128 255 now). Make it be 0 255 255 RGB -Fixed Screen not switching cameras (it's using different cameras now, didn't before due to bug) -Added one second delay to "enemy scorer cam" zooming -Fixed UT Secure problems with Tennis -Fixed Physics Volume not causing pain -Added request when entering botmatch menu -Fixed Spectator camera numbers mixed up -Bots no more standing there doing nothing, sometimes they boost each other (and even do multijumps in the air). A bit more pass-happy now. But they still suck and you cannot play seriously with them. We are going to make kick ass bots for 1.9 or 2.0! Maps: -Fixed Greenbaize radar -Fixed November puddles invisible -Cube crowd sounds 23% lowered; decreased optimal distance of Spectator camera 5 (so you see more on the big screen) -Changed Icedemon radar and banners, 9mb smaller (converted textures from rgb8 to dxt3) Tennis 0.5 Changes: -Fixed infinite jump bug -Removed Possession stat -Added Current Rally stat -Hopefully fixed the Speed-O-Meter hanging -Fixed bug that caused that players in Deathball (!) had no aimcone
