MTA – Multi Theft Auto – Client for MTA:VC 0.1 (Client 0.1.0)
Please read the manual for Installation instructions and more detailed descriptions.
Most importantly, remember that this is not a "finished" product and therefore will have problems.
SERVER BROWSING USING ASE (All Seeing Eye)
Server Browsing is still done through ASE. To obtain ASE please navigate to
http://www.udpsoft.com/eye.
Once ASE is installed, you should be able to configure games and select the "MTA" (not GTA3:MTA) option and
point to the proper exe location.
If MTA is not available for selection, you can add it yourself with the following steps:
1. Goto Filter on the menu, then New ...
2. Enter a Name in which you want to title this Filter. We suggested "MTA".
3. In the large textbox enter the following:
1 if servertype != "NEW" remove
2 if gamename != "mta" remove
4. Hit OK.
5. Select the newly created filter. Right-click on it and choose "Refresh".
That is it, happy playing and please support ASE!!!
KNOWN ISSUES
Q: Whenever I start the game it crashes with an Illegal Exception.
A: There could be many causes for this problem and here are the most common ones.
- You have not installed the MTA files in the proper locations. When the game starts, the MTA Client needs
to modify certain things on run-time so that it may function properly. To fix this either re-install MTA
with the Client Setup, or make sure the following directory structure is follow:
data/mta.scm
MTA/american.gxt
mta_dll.dll
- You have not selected the proper version of the game or your version is not supported. To select a version,
open the MTA Client and use the drop down box on the top right area of the screen. Select the game version
according to what you have installed.
- If you use a different language .gxt file, other than american.gxt, please copy the original file that you
do use into the MTA directory off of the Vice City Root Directory
Q: I connect to a MTA Server and after a few seconds it say “Timed out”. What can I do?
A: This is a problem that we are having with the link between your connection (Client) and the remote connection
(Server). We advise trying to connect again and a lot of the time it will work. If it does not work, please
try another Server as your route to that Server may be extremely bad.
Q: I have been connected to a Server for awhile and things seem weird.
A: Start new game without disconnecting in the Server, or shut both the MTA Client and game down and start
again (try the first option first).
Q: (null) is talking to me. What is going on?
A: The is a Server bug that happenings every once and awhile. It seems that you have not received the Player
JOIN packet. To fix this just disconnect and then reconnect. You should not even have to close down the game.
Q: Sometimes my chat messages don't send.
A: For some reason or another either the Server between overloaded and "dropped" your packet or your connection
to the Server is about to die. Try try again.
Q: When i kill ________, someone else gets the credit.
A: Since the GTA games were not setup for Multiplayer, this is not the easiest thing to perfect. We will
continue to try and find better ways of doing this, sit tight.
