EIDOS WINS ‘WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?’
11 May, 2000 - Eidos Interactive, announces it has signed a deal with Celador Productions to publish Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? in the UK. The game will be available for the PC, PlayStation and Dreamcast formats.
Due for release this Autumn, the game is based on the hit TV quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? PC and console games players can now experience for themselves the excitement and tension of the TV show as they try to win one million virtual pounds. The game features audio and video clips of the TV show’s host Chris Tarrant, who will be asking the questions, giving the answers, and of course, uttering the famous line, “Is that your final answer?” The game is being developed by Hothouse Creations of Bristol, England.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? was first screened in the UK in September 1998. Its UK audience figures have reached over 19 million. The format to the show has been licensed or optioned to 77 countries worldwide.
