Matrix Games and IQ Software have announced the release of World War II: Road to Victory, a turn-based strategu game in which players can wage World War II in Europe from the front lines in France and Russia to the deserts of North Africa and the airfields and convoys of Britain. World War II: Road to Victory, the first release from IQ Software, puts the player at the helm of his choice of one or more Axis or Allied nations, including minor nations, amidst a continent torn by full scale war.

Resistance 2 Beta Details Revealed

Insomniac Games Community Manager James Stevenson revealed that there are many ways to get into the Resistance 2 beta test, the soon to be announced pre-order program and the third episode of Qore being two of them. The details for the European beta are not revealed, but he insisted that they "plan to make the beta available in all territories, as we need to test all servers and worldwide play".

Inanimate Alice Project Announced

The BradField Company today announced the release of the fourth episode for Inanimate Alice, a flash-based storytelling experiment which goes beyond e-books. The series tells the story of Alice, a young girl growing up in the first half of the 21st century and her imaginary digital friend, Brad. The girl wants to become a videogame designer, so the episodes are embedded with games, simple in the beginning and getting more complex with each episode. JoWooD Productions today announced their plans to expand the company's portfolio with additional titles for the Nintendo DS. During fiscal year 2008, a few new titles will be released from partnerships with The Games Company and Tivola Publishing. The last one to be released this fiscal year is Neighbours from Hell DS, with new partnerships for fiscal year 2009 to be announced soon. Press 'read more' for details.

Syberia Series Website Now Live

Microïds today announced that an official website for the Syberia series is now live, including information on the latest installment Syberia DS, trailers, info and a community forum. Produced by Microïds and developed by Tetraedge Games, Syberia DS will be released in October 2008 and published by Mindscape throughout Europe. While trying to remain faithful to the famous original PC game, developers redesigned the DS version, puzzle by puzzle, to optimize the specific features of the DS and make full use of the stylus.

Mirror's Edge Comic Book Series Announced

Electronic Arts and DC Comics today announced that a Mirror's Edge limited edition comic book series is planned to be released, with the first issue to be distributed this week at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Based on the upcoming game, the comic combines the talents of writer and story designer Rhianna Pratchett (also responsible for the script of the game) with artist Matthew Dow Smith. The six-part comic series will introduce readers to Faith and the Runners.
